Winter AcuYoga Workshop
Sun, Jan 4, 2026
10am to 1pm
Join me for a workshop where we tune into our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs using the wonderful tools of Yoga and Qi Gong along with the wisdom offered by Taoism and Chinese medicine. Learn to celebrate and embrace the wisdom and opportunities presented by the natural cycles of nature and life itself.
Winter is a perfect time for inward reflection, restoration and nourishment—a time to truly come home to yourself. It is associated with slowing down, resting, restoring, building and reserving vital energy or Qi. It gives each of us an opportunity to go within, to gain knowledge of our unique nature, our true purpose, that which can evolve without struggle or excess effort. Once cultivated, this energy is available in Spring for new growth and expansion.
Winter is associated with the element of Water, the most precious of all of the elements, and with the Kidney/Bladder organ systems. The Kidneys house the root energy of the body and are associated with will power, purpose and destiny—a force that when in balance allows you to move through your life with ease. Out of balance, you can feel weak and tired, experience oedema, low libido, menstrual problems, menopausal symptoms, palpitations, insomnia, joint aches and pains, hearing problems. Emotionally and spiritually you can feel disconnected, misaligned and overcome by fear. In extreme circumstances, you can lack the will to live.
In this workshop we will:
Explore how you can adapt your yoga practice, pranayama (breath work) and meditation to serve the innate needs of your body, mind and spirit during the Winter months.
Practise some Qi Gong and acupressure to help replenish your vital energy.
Learn some reflective practices that help clarify your true purpose.
Take away some simple dietary principles, including certain foods and herbs, that can help create vibrant health at this time of the year.
Leave feeling vibrantly healthy and with knowledge that you can use over the coming months to continue to thrive.
